World Bank team visited Lao Agriculture competitiveness project in Vientiane Province

On September 6, 2022, the World Bank team visited Lao Agriculture competitiveness project in Vientiane Province, led by Mr. Alexander Kremer, Country Manager in Lao PDR Office and Mrs. Dina Umali-Deininger, the World Bank’s Agriculture Implementation Manager, along with the team. On this occasion, the World Bank team also paid a visit to Mr. Phouvong Bounsu, Deputy Governor of Vientiane Province, with the DG and DDG from technical departments of MAF, Central and provincial project coordination and technical assistants. Mr. Phouvong Bounsu welcomed and congratulated the work of the World Bank team this time, as Vientiane province is one of the target provinces to be implemented under LACP in Lao PDR. On the same occasion, the World Bank team visited the implementation of the project at Chum Village, Thulakom District, Vientiane Province, which is a village that has received assistance from the project including: Seed multiplication Group, Rice Production Group, Vegetable Production Group and Irrigation System. In addition, he also visited the Manola rice mill in Pakhang Village, Thulakom District, Vientiane Province, which received a grant of 100,000 dollars from the project to be included in the purchase of new rice husking machines and rice mills.
