The World Bank team courtesy call on the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry to report the progress of the implementation of LACP. On the 20 February 2023, the World Bank team lead by Mr. Binh Thang Cao, LACP task teal leader along with his team, National project coordinator and national project committees reported the progress of implementation of the project after visited target provinces and reported on status of the implementation, success, solutions, development as well as plan to perform the year 2024. At the same time, there was also a report on the feasibility study and preparation of a new project called (Small Green Agriculture Competitiveness Project) by identifying 03 new provinces to be added: Savannakhet, Saravan and Champasak to the new project. After the reporting, the Minister expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the team and the success of the many tasks that the project has organized and directions for solutions. He agreed to accelerate the continuation of the two unfinished activities of the project such the rice mill and the irrigation repair work, which has been delayed due to the effects of the Covid-19 disease over the last 2-3 years. With the use of technology, machinery, water management is still at the basic level, trade in agricultural production as a commodity in Laos is still low compared to many countries. For the new project in the future, need to be address and raise these two issues to solve them in the future.
